I'm too Texas Tough!

Sandra "Sandy" Cheeks is one of the characters of SpongeBob SquarePants.

Sandy is an intelligent anthropomorphic squirrel who resides in Bikini Bottom and features as a close friend of SpongeBob SquarePants. She is from Texas and it is for this reason that she is heard speaking in a Southern accent, and is proud of her home state which is frequently brought up throughout the course of the series. Sandy has been shown to possess a number of tough, tomboyish character traits and interests; she is skilled at karate and frequently enjoys practicing it with SpongeBob; she is also shown to be an excellent bodybuilder, is a rodeo champion, and possesses extraordinary scientific skills and can construct complex inventions. She must wear a deep sea dive suit when underwater with a helmet in order to breathe, and vice versa when SpongeBob, Patrick, or any other sea creatures visit her tree-dome. While Sandy is normally portrayed as kind, helpful, and understanding, she has been shown to possess a vindictive side too. In "Texas", she violently attacked SpongeBob and Patrick when they insulted her native land several times, while in "Band Geeks" she stuck Patrick up a trombone and later tried to do the same thing with a trumpet when he kicked her twice.

A professional scientist, Sandy resides in Bikini Bottom as part of a research project funded by three land-based chimpanzees, who appear solely in the episode "Chimps Ahoy".

MuscleBob BuffPants (S01,E11a)Edit

When SpongeBob shows off the "results" he got with his "state-of-the-art" weight set, Sandy shows off her bodybuilder-sized biceps for SpongeBob, showing what real results look like, with veins on her arms.

Christmas Who? (S02,E05)Edit

While telling SpongeBob the story of Christmas, Sandy briefly grows huge muscles and poses, with veins on her arms.

Karate Island (S04,E11b)Edit

Before squaring off against Udon, the Karate Master, Sandy rips off her jumpsuit, clenches, grows muscles, flexes, and unleashes a primal roar before charging against Udon, which veins on her forehead, arms, tail, traps, and pecs.

This was used as stock footage on a Nick commercial in July 2012, advertising "The Super Spongy Square Games".

The Abrasive Side (S07,E20a)Edit

Sandy rolls up her sleeves to remove Spongebob's abrasive side, revealing muscular, manly, tough looking arms as a gag. Fact: This is the only Sandy muscle moment where she doesn't have veins. It's also an animation error, as she already has fur on her arms.

Whelk Attack (S07,E22b)Edit

While telling SpongeBob and Patrick the "action packed answer"(really just the regular answer with random karate moves dispersed in), she briefly grows muscles and flexes, visible sweating as she does so, with veins on her arms.

Behind The Scenes Edit

In Febuary and March 2017, Supervising Director Adam Paloian drew pictures of Sandy and Mr. Krabs wrestling on Twitter for fun. Krabs looked normal but Sandy was drawn hulked out.
